Do you recognize these little guys? Well, many may, however my first introduction to these cute little critters was at the Friday morning story time in our community in NJ. Every week the children and their mommies and/or grandparents gather in a shady spot by the lake and enjoy story time. We have only made it a few times. This particular week, one of the books read was "I Broke My Trunk" by Mo Willems. It was so cute and all the kiddos were held captive as the illustrations were shown and the story read. I recalled seeing an exhibit of Mo Willems at the New York Historical Society, so a hot humid morning in the city was the perfect time to change my normal routine, and visit the museum.

As a yoga teacher in New York City, or anywhere for that matter, it is easy to get caught up in the yoga spiral. Going to yoga, teaching yoga, preparing a sequence for a yoga session, looking at yoga on Instagram, reading YogaJournal...
A few weekends ago, I was fortunate to spend time in a training (yoga related, of course) with Chrissy Carter. There were many take-aways from that weekend, however the most thought provoking was the challenge to do something unrelated to yoga once a week. Eleanor Roosevelt once said to "do one thing a day that scares you". So how does this quote and the take away from the training relate? Well, in short, it has been a long while since I have put myself out of my comfort zone... to do something that scares me. |
